
If you’re working on a product which does not fit within one of our consumer brands then you may still be considered for distribution through Boots.
This type of commercial partnership is for shelf-ready products. Under this arrangement we offer innovators:
- A listing online at Boots.com.
- Potential access to close to 2,500 Boots stores in the UK.
- Consideration for our network of international distribution opportunities.
- The option to market your finished product under your own brand identity, although Boots branding can also be considered.
Many shelf-ready products vie for a place in Boots’ stores and yours will have the best chance of success if it meets the following criteria:
- The product fits into Boots’ core business
- It offers our customers exciting benefits
- It is significantly different to existing products on the market today
- Claims of effectiveness are supported by robust scientific data
- Any regulatory approvals have been obtained and the appropriate certification is available
If you can fulfil these criteria we will introduce your product to the relevant buying team. It is at this stage that we would ask for samples to be sent including all associated packaging.
When considering a retail introduction route you should be aware of the limitations, as well as the opportunities, involved.
- All suppliers need to adhere to our standard set of terms.
- We may gauge customer demand by listing your product on Boots.com first. In this trial period initial orders are most likely to be small and they may be subject to sale or return.
- When it comes to getting new products into stores we stick to a timetable to make sure their introduction fits perfectly with all our other operations. This means there will only be one or two windows during the year so things may not happen as quickly as you would like but this careful timing will give your product a good chance of success.
